Last minute challenge entry - One for the boys

Good evening everyone. I seem to be getting later and later with posting my blogs.  I have had a very busy day today rushing around de-cluttering the house. I have been paying particular attention to the spare room because I have finally convinced my husband to redecorate and turn it into a craft room/office. I can't wait, finally a space of my own to craft without having to chase the dog around the house to rescue my copic's!

On for the Boys Bunny Zoe Crafts Challenge.

I don't usually do cards for boys very often but after much nagging from my family who haven't bought cards for years I made a whole batch using the adorable boys from Hanglar.

The papers used to create this card are from My Minds Eye and I think they compliment the boys beach outfit quite well. The ribbon was recycled from a box of chocolates. The only other items I have used are grunge board elements from Tim Holtz and a little tag topper from Hobby Craft.

The image has been cut using Nestie's and the out of the frame technique. All colouring has been done with Copic's but I can't remember which colours sorry!

 Here's a close up of the grunge board arrow that I have painted using picket fence crackle paint and aged using distress inks.

Just Magnolia and Hanglar Challenge - Buttons, Bows and Bling

I would like to enter the Magnolia/Hanglar only Buttons bows and bling Challenge with this card.

My husband encouraged me to enter this challenge. He saw the card that I had just made and decided that it was just right and that I should stop dithering and have a go. He then promptly tried to steal it for his mum's Birthday!!!!!!!!!!. I wasn't having any of it and made him choose another.

This is a very simple card but I think it turned out well (it's hard too judge your own work).
Any way the image has been coloured with Copic's onto craftwork smooth card and distress using Antique Linen Distress Inks. The paper is Linen Closet by DCWV. I love this paper it is so fresh and works well for boy's cards as well as for girl's . I think the button may have come from one of my husbands jumpers. I'm sure he won't miss it.

Lili of the Valley

I made this card using my new Lili of the valley stamp. I bought a whole stack of these little lovelies at Alexandra Palace last month.

 The papers used on this card are from My Minds Eye (Totally Girl). As always the image has been coloured using Copic's.

 I had a lot of fun with the grungeboard heart that I used. I painted the heart with scattered straw crackle paint, let it dry for a bit and then heated it untill the edges started to burn and the paint bubble. Once it cooled I scraped the bubbles with a scalple to remove the top layer and achieve a worn look.

80th Birthday Card

I was commissioned to make this 80th Birthday card and at first I just could not come up with any idea's. After much pondering and paper searching I came across a wedding paper pack by K and Company. I know what you are thinking wedding paper for an 80th Birthday not sure!, and you would be right but strangely it seemed to work so I just had to add it to my blog.

It's quite a large card 8x8 inch.

 All of the papers are K&Co with a few scraps from Bazzil. The lace down the side is actually lazer cut paper from Hot of the press. The 80 I stamped using stamps from Cute Companians and embossed in gold. I made the flowers myself using sizzix dies. The tag under to 80 slides out and reads years young. All of the papers have been distressed using Tim Holtz distress ink. To finish off I used glitter and crystals.

Pretty in pink Hanglar card

It's been really hectic today but I thought I should take 5 minutes to post this card.

The lovely little lady used on this card is from a Hanglar set of 4 images called I think "Limited Edition".

She was the first Hanglar that I ever bought and has started me down the road to yet another addiction. I really can't get enough of these stamps.  I need to stop rambling now and get back to the matter in hand.

I used a Prima stack of papers on this card called Sparking Spring and coloured my image using Copic's.

I just love these flowers. They are from Prima too. Just a light dusting of glitter and they were good to go.The leave were cut from white cardstock using a Sizzix die and then distressed. The stick pin I made using Swarovski crystals in pink and a glass pearl. 

The heart is a grunge board piece that I first painted with picket frence crackle paint and then embossed with pink Moon glow powder. I think it came out quite well and I love the worn look. It goes well with the Hanglar girls country look.

Bailey the very bad Pomeranian

Bailey is a very bad misbehaved dog who never does as he is told. Yesterday my husband was planting a Bay tree and Bailey decided to help dig the hole. He spent most of his time rolling in the mud and walked dirty footprints all over the house!!!!!!!!!

Hanglar Cutie & Pink Strawberry's

 I really enjoyed making this card, Everything just seemed to click. The colours were inspired by

a DCWV self adhesive pad from my stash (pink check background paper).

Pink and beige has to be one of my favourite combinations at the moment. Very girly.

 I was playng around with different mediums when I produced these strawberry's. The leaves are cut from Bazzil swiss dots paper and the strawberry's from medium weight chipboard. After cutting out the strawberry's I embossed them using clear embossing ink and pink Moon Glow Embossing powder. Several layers later it was time to glue on some pink bling and then two coats of clear embossing powder just to seal it all in.

 I was inspired by an embossed Heart I saw on one of Maddy Hills Cards.

The Little Hanglar girl is coloured using Copics and lightly distressed using Tim Holtz distress inks.
