Happy 9th Birthday

Afternoon everyone. I hope that you have all been enjoying the lovely weather. I have taken full advantage when work lets me!!!!!. Christopher had his Go karting party on Friday and much fun was had by all. Some of the dads could not resist and had to have a go. Chris enjoyed it so much he now wants to take it up as a hobby, much to his dads delight. Apparently he is a natural!.
Right enough waffle and on to my card.....................

I was commissioned to make this card for a rugby loving 9 year old called Oscar. It gave me a great opportunity to use a Lilli of the Valley stamp that has never been inked before. I drew inspiration from the team my son plays for the Wanstead Herons 12 and under.
The papers are a boys stack by My Minds Eye. The banner has been cut using a Doohickey die and letters cut using my Cricut. Another first for me was using a neglected set of nesties from the labels range.
As you can see I also broke out the sewing machine. I am really happy with the way this one came out as I struggle with boy cards.

Lovely Lulu

Good morning everyone. Has it really been a fortnight already? I guess it must have been as it's time for a new challenge over at Stampin for the weekend. This week we want you to follow a sketch. So nice and easy. You can flip it rotate it anything really as long as we can see the original sketch somewhere in your design.
Well here's my take on it. What do you think?
It is a bit of a quick one as my some is off camping with the scouts today and at the same time we are arranging  a 12th birthday Go-Karting party for next Friday. We must be mad!!!!
Right back to business. I have used a Krafting Kimmie stamp for this one and this little cutie is from the Lovely Lulu set. I bought this a few weeks back from My mums craft shop.
The papers are from a stack by My Minds Eye and I think they are called "all about the girl".
I have coloured up using Copic's and a little stickles for the bubbles.
Dont forget to visit my talented teamies.

We are being sponsored this time by the lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp.
The stamp used is Tilda with bike and a snippet of Grand Oak tree by Magnolia. The papers are by Prima.
I have created the lace doily using a Martha Stewart stamp around the page set (floral crochet).
The flowers are Prima and the netting and the pearl I grabbed from my stash of bits and bobs.

Wednesday 2 May 2012

Good morning and it's time for another fabulous challenge over at Diva's by Design. This weeks challenge is sponsored by Craftie Charlie and we want to see Monochrome for your entries this week. So shades of only one colour please. A few rules, no more than 2 entries per challenge and your projects must not be back linked. That said we look forward to seeing your fabulous creations.
Don't forget to visit our lovely design team members for some inspiration, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
I nearly never made this challenge as my 21 year old daughter tried to burn down the house while cooking a Pizza. The fire brigade arrived very quickly and put out the oven! so now real damage except for smoke and the need of a new oven. Louise was fine but not allowed to cook any more........

For this card I have used a Lala land crafts image called cowgirl Marci. This is my first time using a Lala land image and I think she came out quite well. Adorable don't you think?
The papers are First Edition (Desert bloom I think!). The scalloped edge and stars I cut using my Cricut and the ribbons and bits are from my ever increasing stash.
